Returning to the Fold of the Earth
Becoming Earth is a sanctuary for reconnection, grown season by season in the presence of the wild. We facilitate immersive threshold experiences and ecotherapy for those navigating the complexities of modern life, parents seeking rootedness, and those transitioning into later life.
Wild Days at Brown Rock
Originating in the rugged landscapes of Brown Rock, our journey began with simple, untethered days of forest school and survival skills, testing the edges of our own wildness.
Influences & Lineage
We stand on the shoulders of many elders and mentors, from the deep ecology of Arne Naess to the soulful journeying of Bill Plotkin.

As we deepened our practice, we realized that the land is not just a backdrop, but a therapeutic partner. Our work evolved to center emotional resilience and nervous system regulation.
Ongoing Becoming
The story isn't finished. We continue to evolve, season by season, listening to the needs of our local community and the changing songs of the woodland.
Ecotherapy & Healing
The Roots that Hold Us
Interdependence
We acknowledge that our wellbeing is inseparable from the health of the Earth. We foster a sense of belonging to the wider living web of life.
Environmental Stewardship
Tending the land is tilling the soul. We practice active care and reciprocal relationships with our local ecosystems and woodlands.
Emotional Maturity
We hold space for the complex emotions of our time, encouraging resilience, deep storytelling, and intergenerational wisdom.

The Path Within
A Slow and Intentional Way of Being
Our approach is rooted in the quiet wisdom of ecological awareness and ecotherapy. We facilitate immersive threshold experiences that invite you to slow down, listen to the land, and remember your deep interdependence with the living world. Through storytelling and nature-based mentoring, we support emotional maturity and a sense of true belonging, especially for those navigating the transitions of mid-life and beyond.
The Stewardship of Becoming Earth
Becoming Earth is held in soft, steady hands by our three directors and guided by a wider Stewardship Circle. This circle is not a distant board, but a community of care—woodland practitioners, elders, and neighbors who help resource our work, tend to the long-term health of the CIC, and ensure our roots remain deep and nourishing.

Rowan Thorne
Rowan is an ecotherapist and core weaver of the vision. She guides our deep threshold work, holding space for intergenerational storytelling and the emotional transitions as we return to the Earth's fold.
Elena manages the resourcing and long-term vitality of the CIC. With a background in community-led funding and crafts, she ensures our work is sustainably held and accessible to all.
Elena Vane

Dr. Julian Moss
Julian brings cultural ecology and stewardship into practice. He facilitates our slow walks and intergenerational work, rooting our community in the cycles and rhythms of the living landscape.
The Stewardship Circle
A gathering of mentors, land tenders, and community voices who provide the financial oversight and emotional support needed to keep the CIC grounded in its mission of care.
Step Across the Threshold
Whether you seek private mentoring, seasonal gatherings, or simply a place to belong, we invite you to join us on the land as we remember our ancient connection to the living world.
